Google Homepage
It's amazing how awesome google homepage is. It can be pretty much anything you want. You can add and RSS/Atom/XML feed you have to it, plus something that I'll post about later: Google Modules.
del.icio.us/recent
del.icio.us is a wonderful service that I've seriously underestimated until now. I'm sure all of you know about it and use it, but I'm just discovering it. P.S: This is a test post, made from the new Firefox extension that lets me blog without going to blogger. :D

Dragon Fable: Beta Testing
Mood: Geek
Awesome. Dragon Fable, a game by Artix Entertainment, has finally gone into semi-public beta. Semi-public means that any Guardian who wants to sign up to play can. Sadly, the public cannot. So far, there's only one quest that is so easy, you can beat it without breaking a sweat at level two. However, I know that this is only the beta, and that the full game will be much more challenging. I'll update on my testing occasionally, if there's anything worth mentioning.
Remember, have fun, and geek out!

I've just got a couple of things to talk about in this post. It's nothing actually important, but things I'd just like to say anyway.
- First, I've got my game working everytime I run it. I am, however, working on improving it even more. I'm still trying to get py2exe to work so that I can distribute it.
- My computer finally got moved back into my room, but only for the Christmas holidays. After that, it gets moved back into the living room. :(

Err...Scratch That last Post
Mood: Geek
Oy...do these things ever die? I've been working on it for at least two months and I'm still not finished with it. Of course, I'm adding features, not debugging, so I suppose that it's my fault. But I'll blame it on the government. Because I can. Stupid Republicans. >_>

Finito!
Mood: Geek
God damn that took a long time. I finally finished the game referenced in this post. Also, because it's supposed to be simulating a game simlar to football in an outdoors arena, I added weather that affects the outcome of the rolls. I'm working on figuring out py2exe, so that I can distribute my game.

Specific Miscellany
Mood: Geek
I'm posting just to check in with you guys. Nothing very big has happened, but I've made a few minor ccomplishments. First, I'm starting to flesh out one of my programs so that weather changes the effect of the die rolls. Another thing I did was that I passed my geometry. Of course, I use the term "passed" lghtly. I only got a D. But compared to the other tests, that's pretty good. I'm pretty much out of news now, so I'll sign off now.

Flock- New Kid on the Block
Mood: Geek
I was linked to a site for a new web-browser called Flock. I've played with it for about thirty minutes now, so I can give a basic list of the features.
Well...that's about it. Nothing too very new. If you 1) Use and like Firefox, and 2) Are a social person (i.e you have del.icio.us account(s), blog alot, etc.) you will enjoy this browser. If you aren't, then stick with normal Firefox.

- Blogging- This is a kinda nice little feature that lets you blog to your blog without having to go to your blog.
- Extensions- This is a Firefox based browser. Actually...this is Firefox with a nicer default theme, and some extra features built-in.

Brown Note
Mood: Geek
The Brown Note is an, as of yet, unproven note that when played, isntantly loosens the bowels of anyone within a certain distance. On a TC show called Brainiac on G4TV, they claim to have found this note, and will be playing it over the air. I'll publish this post, then amend it after they play it, to tell you if it actually works.
Edit: Well, that was disapointing. It didn't work.

Grammar: Use it!
Disclaimer: The following stories are sorta based on not-true stories. Names haven't been changed. Screw the innocent.
The scenario should be familiar. Your chatting in your favorite IRC channel, when all of a sudden, cooldudeman432 pops in. Quoth cooldudeman432, “Lolz roffle wat r u dooing? Im the l337 haxx0r! I hax ur comp! I put virus on ur comp!” Seem familiar? It does to me.
Some people may not know it, but an epidemic is spreading on the Internet It's called “grammaritis.” It's characterized by a peculiar lack of grammatical correctness, and lack of coherence. There is now only one known cure for this disease: a swift kick in the balls and a sound beating with a hardback copy of Don Quixote.
Seriously though. These people, who think they are “l337”, who think they are “haxx0rs”, are a pain. If the English language were Julius Caesar, these retards would be Brutus. The source of this problem is laziness. These people are too lazy too type out the whole word. This has to stop.
My real solution: Include an automatic spell-checker in IRC clients, web-browsers, and anything involved with typing and posting on the Internet This would fix almost everyone's problems. Of course, I still like the idea of beating these retards up.

Mood: Geek
Well, I commented on a blog by the author/character of my favorite web-comic and left the address to this blog, so I'm expecting an increase in traffic. Well, not really. Oh well. I just hope that someone will like my blog. At first, it was hard blogging, but I'm getting used to it. Hopefully I won't just die off like I expected to.

FMA: Not too shabby
Mood: Geek
As I write this post, I am watching Full Metal Alchemist. My first impression of it was "Hmm...not bad. I like it." Considering that this is one of my first forays into anime-watching, that's pretty good. The plot so far is interesting. It's deep enough to keep my attention for the duration of an episode, but not so deep that I can't catch up in the middle of the series. Cause that's what happened. I started watching en medias res, as the Latin saying goes.
P.S.: that latin phrase means "in the middle"

Checking in; More Python silliness
Mood: Meh
I'm just checking in, so you people don't think I've died. I haven't done anything of major importance, recently. However, I am writing an essay for English. It's a character analysis essay about Edmond Dantes , from The Count of Monte Cristo. Of course, this isn't pleasure reading, but the reading was pleasureable. Try figuring that one out. ;)
Also, I've started working on another Python program, which basically rolls a d100, for two people, compares the result, and declares who ever has the higer number a winner. Once I get the framework set up, I may think about adding support for three, or perhaps four people. If I do get it to work, I'll try to figure out how to upload it, and let you guys play around with it.
I guess that's all, so I'll let you go. Don't forget...have fun, and geek out!

More Python craziness
Mood: Geek
Yes! I finsihed my Python program! It took a week or so of hard work, but considering that it's the first original, successful program I've written, it's worth it. All it does is perform some uome functions that you'd need for a science class (i.e. finding volume, density, temperature conversions). It's a really simple program, so it's nothing to brag about. I suppose that's all for now, so I'm gonna sign off.

Python, Dictionaries, and craziness
Mood: Meh
Well, I've got a bit of news. It's nothing too important. Just a little bit of this, a little bit of that.
I'm learning Python, finally. It's tough, in a way, but still fun. So far, I can create a function, use it, and I almost understand dictionaries.
Also, I made an enemy yesterday. A wasp was flying in my face, and I swatted it. A girl from my bus snapped at me. She yelled at me for killing an innocent creature, and how I was an ass for just killing it.
Also, my internet connection gets cut off at ten o'clock. That BLOWS. Oh well. At least it gives me a steady time to start my homework. I guess that's all, so I'll let go of your ears. And remember, geek out!

Space Elevator: Episode II
Mood: Geek
There ya have it. A space elevator is a "viable option." Thanks to the carbon nanotubes "so strong that one the width of a hair could lift a car," cheap, easy surface-to-space transport will be a piece of cake.
Mozilla.org- Firefox home site
Glenn Reynolds, of Instapundit fame, has posted his thoughts on why NASA should be building a space elevator instead or their current plans. Keith has also posted his throughts from an engineer's perspective (although admittadly still not a rocket scientist). "The challenges are many, but it has been a viable option since carbon nanotubes, structures so strong that one the width of a human hair could lift a car, were invented. A space elevator could be between 10 and 2000 times cheaper than conventional technology and will force NASA to change just about everything they do. Hopefully one day that bureaucracy will wake up and realize it."

Space Elevators?
Mood: Geek
I just read an article on Slashdot about how the FAA (Federal Aviation Adminitration) has given LiftPort Group to do some testing on "high-altitude robotic lifters." So basically, they are creating an early prototype of the fabled "space elevator." This has incredible implications.
With this technology, the huge costly rockets of today will be obsolete. A trip into space could be acheived with relative cheapness and ease. Shipping supplies to a shuttle, or even a space station, would be quite easy. I hope that this technology comes into fruition, because if it does, space will slowly be easily more conquerable. Well, I guess that's all for now. Remember, have fun, and geek out!

Explanation: Moods
Mood: Geek
Okay...maybe I should explain the "mood" part of my posts.
Most people think that nerd and geek mean the same thing. In my most humble opinion, they are quite different. To most people, a nerd is someone who isn't "popular." They don't have loud friends, and don't tell loud jokes, or are into computers, and Magic: The Gathering. These people also think that nerds and geeks are the same thing.
In my opinion, the only difference between a nerd and a geek is that a geek is happy. A geek is proud of being able to program in thirteen languages, read HTML like they read a book, and know what megahertz are, and how they apply to computers. A nerd is someone who, becuase of low self-esteem, avoid social situations. They are ashamed of being what they are, of not fitting into the mold of what's "cool."
So, in summation: When I say Mood: Nerd; I'm feeling sad and depressed. When Mood: Geek is shown, it means that I'm in a good mood. Also, I'll sometimes put up Mood: Meh which means that I'm either really tired, or just sorta..."blah".

WB- Raper of memories
I feel pretty, oh so pretty...I feel pretty and witty and gay! Well....not gay. But as for everything else...yeah. Or at least as pretty and witty you can feel at 12:30 in the morning. Anyway...
The WB is the official raper of childhood dreams. Loonatics
They are raping one of the most wonderful cartoons of my young life. No. My whole life. This is one of the worst things that a network could do. Now, kids are gonna grow up thinking that Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are all about superpowers and flashy grpahics. No one is going to remember the true spirit of Loony Toons. Rude Goldbergian-traps, courtesy of Wile. E. Coyote. Cross-dressing, thanks to Bugs Bunny. What the WB is doing is perverted and wrong.

Oh em gee! A totally unprecedented event has occured. A totally good looking girl asked for my phone number! THat's the only time a girl has asked for my number. Well...this is my personal blog, so, I guess I'm obligated to post personal stuff on it. Anyway...here goes nothing.
*sigh* Another year, another school. Having only been in a high school for one year previous to this, I'm kinda lost as far as what to expect. Homecoming caught me by suprise again. However, this time, I think I'll go. I'm hoping I'll get the courage to ask one of my friends, but...I'm a gutless coward. >.< No, not really. I suffer from "nice guy syndrome". I'm so worried about being nice to ladies, I seem inconfident, and ladies don't like that. *sigh* Life goes on...
In other news...I dont' have other news. I suppose I'll have to stop here, since I can't think of anything else to say. So, until next time, WAFFLE!

Anyway...home-coming is coming up, and I'm sure that eventually, I'll try asking somone to go with me. I have a girl in mind, but I doubt she's going to go with me. In other news a bunny with a pancake on it's head.

School- Jeebus...
Week two of school. Not fun. However, it is canelled out somewhat by some friends I have. Homeowrk is terrible. I have a schedule where I take every other class every other day. That's classes 1,3, and 5 one day; then 2,4, and 6 the next. I've been waiting till the night before the clss todo homeowrk. Very bad. I'm going to catch up this weekend and stay caught up. I'll post my grades occasionally. Or not. They're always pretty bad.

Why delay the inevitable? Firefox vs. IE
Well...I suppose this post is inevitable in all blogs. Firefox vs. IE.
Now, I'll have to vouch for Firefox in this fight. IMO, Firefox is has more positives than IE.
I'll do a side-by-side comparison, so that everything's clear.
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: IE. Firefox is slower than IE, but for a good reason. Trident, IE's rendering engine, is ancient, as far as HTML rendering goes. It is not standards-compliant, and because it's old, it may completely ignore some tags in a page, or show them incorrectly.
User Friendliness:
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: Firefox. Now, getting used to Firefox's user interface is a little confusing for long-time IE users, but once you do master it, then Firefox is easy and simple.
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: Firefox. This is a tough call, because tastes differ. However, I'm personally leaning towards Firefox, because it's as complicated as you want it to be. If you want just a basic browser, then it can do that. If you want a fully tricked out browser, with tons of tools and gizmos, then Firefox can do it.
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: Firefox. This is where IE is blown out of the water. Firefox offers, at last count 108 themes. IE's graphics remain static and unchanging and boring.
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: Firefox. This is a big one. Firefox has a lot of settings disabled by default( Javascript, ActiveX, etc). This means that whereas a javascript program in IE could launch a flurry of pop-ups, it couldn't in Firefox. Also, downloads never happen without your permission in Firefox. Can IE do that? ...Nope.
Overall winner: Firefox. In four of the most important areas, Firefox beat IE.
I'm not trying to force Firefox on you. I'm trying to show you an alternative. It's your choice if you want to use IE, or Opera, or K-Meleon, or any of the browsers. However, I'm trying to show you which is better, in my humble opinion. Firefox is free to download, free to keep, free to uninstall. NO risks. No reason not to try it.
Now, I'll have to vouch for Firefox in this fight. IMO, Firefox is has more positives than IE.
I'll do a side-by-side comparison, so that everything's clear.
Speed:
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: IE. Firefox is slower than IE, but for a good reason. Trident, IE's rendering engine, is ancient, as far as HTML rendering goes. It is not standards-compliant, and because it's old, it may completely ignore some tags in a page, or show them incorrectly.
User Friendliness:
Firefox vs. IEWinner: Firefox. Now, getting used to Firefox's user interface is a little confusing for long-time IE users, but once you do master it, then Firefox is easy and simple.
COmplexity
Firefox vs.
Aesthetic values
Firefox vs. IE
Winner: Firefox. This is where IE is blown out of the water. Firefox offers, at last count 108 themes. IE's graphics remain static and unchanging and boring.
Security
Firefox vs.
Can IE do that? ...Nope.

House packing- Complete
Well...today, we pretty much finished packing the house. We're moving to Orland, which is in Florida, for those of you who don't know. I'm exhausted, because my room was left for last. Now, we've just got to drive to our new house. I hate road-trips that long. Especially when my sister's in the car. I'm going to be stuck with her for 7+ hours. With no escape, and what's worse, it that I'm not going to be able to bring my computer. =(
I'm going to miss my internet. I guess I'll do my best to get my hands on some internet.

Ugh...rough day.
Hey. LIke the title says, it's been a rough day. I've been throwing away lots of stuff, and putting even more into boxes so we're ready for moving. Apart from that, I haven't been doing too much. I have been trying to learn how to make a widget. Click the link for specifics. I'd rather not go into details. Well, that's all I've got to say for now, so I will bid thee, adieu.

Programmers Jokes, introductions and more.
[programmer's joke] Hello world. [/programmers joke]
I know from the title, this sounds like some kind of mopey, emo livejournal. It's not, though. I just wanted to have a personal blog for some time now, but couldn't decide what to do it about. So, I just said "Fuck topics. I'll post about whatever I want." So, you can expect a little of this, and a little of that. It's probably going to be updated fairly often, as I"m always at my PC.
Anyway...I'm gonna wrap it up for my first post. I'm may think of something else to say later, but who knows?
